The founders
Gernot Neuböck
is the mastermind behind our Hydro Impulse technology. The engineering graduate has worked with and on impeller solutions for over 20 years, in the past also for light aircraft, for example. He is the creative force behind Hydro Impulse Systems and an innovator who consistently pushes the further development of our drive systems.
Alois Bauer
is the founder team’s business brain. Alois is an engineer himself, and contributes more than ten years of business management and business development experience in the technology area. He is responsible for ensuring that the Hydro Impulse products actually find their way to where they belong: on people’s boats.
Our history
Like so many stories, ours also began with an idea. An idea for a new mari-time drive system. Gernot Neuböck developed and trialled some respective first ideas in 2017. In 2019, he finally decided to take the plunge together with Alois Bauer. The best ideas and Gernot's entire know-how from 20 years in the aviation industry are poured into an innovative maritime drive system.
At the company premises in Graz, and above all with countless simulations as well as hours spent trialling the drive on water, the two founders develop the Hydro Impulse impeller technology first to the prototype level and ultimately into a product ready to go into serial production. The first revolutionary maritime drives made in Graz are scheduled for delivery from 2023 onwards.
Our mission
We improve life on and under the water. For people, for the environ-ment, for the underwater world. And – but this always only as a result – for the economy. We are convinced that a technology that only achieves between 40 and 60 percent efficiency cannot be good enough.
That is why we are not only shaking up a 200-year-old system, we intend to topple it – in order to thereby open the doors to innovation, and to changing maritime transport for the better.
