Hydro Impulse Sterndrive

  • The Hydro Impulse Sterndrive is designed for motor shaft outputs of between 30kW and 65kW. Our sterndrive transmits more power to the propeller shaft that ordinary sterndrives. The entire Hydro Impulse system operates at app. 80% efficiency.

  • The Hydro Impulse Sterndrive is designed for electric drive planing boats with sterndrive or outboard engines. The compact design makes this the optimum solution for boats with a small transom. Boat designers benefit from the increased design scope at the stern of the boat.

  • Hydro Impulse Sterndrive comes with an inside mounting panel and all fitting accessories. Cooling pumps and motor control gear equipment are optional extras and depend on the engine.

  • Our Hydro Impulse drive is exceptionally low-maintenance. It does not need servicing until it has been in operation for around 2,500 hours.

Built for a long life

Hydro Impulse believes in a long-life business model. This means that our business strategy is geared towards our products having a life-cycle that is as long as possible, and that they require very little maintenance. That is why we use only high-quality components for selected suppliers, for example.

This also means that parts that are subject to wear and tear can always be replaced, that our drives are easy to fit and service, and that our Hydro Impulse systems are compatible with almost all of the standard motor boat types.

Consistent power – for all areas of use

Besides excellent driving properties on open water, Hydro Impulse is also suitable for heterogeneous areas of use such as urban canal boating, for example, or for workboats such as water rescue or pilot boats. The consistently efficient propulsion power transmission ensures excellent steering properties even at low speeds. As the impeller does not feature any exposed rotating parts nor produces cavitation, it is ideal for boats equipped with sonar systems or boats on rescue diving missions.

    The impeller's even water flow permits much tighter turn radii and precise steering even at lower speed.

    The optimum position of the Hydro Impulse just below the waterline makes it possible to drive efficiently even in shallow water.
